Wine Basics
Have you always wanted to learn more about wine, but never had time? Wijnklas offers the Wine Basics, a wine course of one evening. You will learn about wine making, wine styles and wine regions at lightning speed. You will also taste different wines that match the topics covered.
During this course a mix is made of learning and enjoying beautiful wines. At least 7 different wines will be tasted. In addition, the course prepares you well for the SDEN 1 and 2 courses.

- How is wine made?
- Tasting wine
- Wine styles
- Some important wine regions
The course is given in a relaxed and informative manner.

2 days Wine Course SDEN 1
SDEN 1 is a two-days wine course mainly aimed at experiencing and enjoying wine. In two half-days of 3 hours you get to taste wines and learn about wine production, wine characteristics and how to combine wine with food. You can then obtain the basic diploma Wine Vignette SDEN1. This diploma is nationally recognised. In short SDEN 1 gives you a fun and informative foundation in wine and it is a nice stepping stone to continue learning about wine. We taste app. 8 wines per evening.
Who is the SDEN 1 Wine Vignette suitable for?
- Consumers, wine lovers
- (Part-time) employees in catering, wine department, wine trade, liquor store or wholesale
- No entry requirements (but you must be 18+)
The following topics are covered:
- Grape varieties and the composition of the grape
- The winemaking process of red, white, rosé, sparkling and fortified wine
- The most important wine producing countries and (some) regions
- Basic knowledge on wine labels
- Responsible alcohol consumption
- Basic wine flavors and serving suggestions (wine-food, serving temperature of wine)
